Oceanic Counselling Service
Oceanic Counselling Service
Although COVID-19 restrictions have come to an end in the UK, it is clear that coronavirus will continue to have an impact on our lives with many of us having faced difficulties during the pandemic. You may be feeling uncertain or worried about what's going on in the world as it might seem like a lot is happening outside of our control, and this can feel overwhelming. It's natural that these changes can affect our mental health and well-being.
Do you feel that you, or a loved one, could benefit from some counselling support as a teenager, child or young adult?
Sudden deaths can cause devastation in people’s lives. Individuals bereaved suddenly often need sensitive and significant counselling support to help them recover. Our training at Oceanic Counselling and work with the Road Victims Trust can help towards the rebuilding of lives during such a traumatic experience.
Adolescence is a crucial period for developing social and emotional habits important for mental well-being. Our teenage years are a time of change and growth, where many teens experience significant stress, anxiety and depression. At Oceanic Counselling we can offer a supportive environment to help you get through these times.
Having worked as a Special Needs Coordinator for 10 years in a school, I understand the challenges that pupils and parents face when working with Special Educational Needs, Disabilities and Neurodiversity. Oceanic Counselling is vastly experienced and qualified to support people with neurodiverse traits and in turn offer therapies that allow a person to work towards functional independence.
I am an accredited counsellor and founder of Oceanic Counselling offering a professional counselling service for teenagers and adults with issues concerning Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Sudden Bereavement.
As well as being a fully certified Pets As Therapy dog, Bella is a great listener and totally understands confidentiality within the therapy room!
We can help you reflect and make sense of difficult life events through counselling.
Talking with a trained counsellor can help you process difficult thoughts and feelings whilst improving your relationships and ability to communicate through a counselling service.
Talking to someone neutral, outside of your immediate situation, can highlight different perspectives and help you find a way forward with a guidance counsellor.
Sharing your worries can help you feel less alone with a problem, leaving you feeling isolated.
Seeing a counsellor can empower young people to overcome and deal with their struggles whilst gaining a better understanding of their wants and needs in order to make them feel more understood.
Counselling can improve your self-confidence and self-esteem.
To begin with, my counselling starts with a free initial 20 minute phone call where we can explore the possibility of working together. Here I would be considering what is bringing you to therapy and I would be giving information about the way I work and there would be an opportunity for questions.
Approaching a counsellor can be a difficult step for many. If you feel unsure about the process and still feel hesitant to make that initial telephone call, please feel free to email me or text me and I will respond at a time which suits you. This will allow me the opportunity to put your mind at rest and explain how we can work together. Remember that all calls and messages are totally confidential. I take your confidentiality seriously, and this will be discussed with you at our first meeting.
Currently I am offering a range of session types; in-person, online, via the phone and home.
